When you think about it, You really have to ask yourself “WHICH RALLY WOULD MARTIN LUTHER KING HAVE ATTENDED?”
After all, we have a black President now, which makes one wonder about the wisdom of the signs the protestors were sporting last saturday, “Why are you afraid of me because I am brown?” REALLY? sure made scout scratch his canine head!
Scout went to the Restore Honor Rally Saturday. Getting there was a little tough. In it’ infinite wisdon, VDOT closed I66 down to one lane, blocking off exits to the metro. I later learned that 50 was closed as well in Maryland. Folks from all over the USA learned how the DC metro system works Saturday.
As a pup, Scout spent some time in NY, and rode the NY subway, you purchased a token that let you ride until you went through the turnstile. Seems much simpler than DC’S system where you load money onto a paper that a machine reads and asks (i’m not making this up) a burerucat sitting behind a desk if it’s ok to let you enter the turnstile, than when you depart the train on the other end, you enter your ticket and the same burecrat reads your ticket once again and deducts your fare from your ticket, and enters that information into your Federal jacket that is in the basement of the IRS building. Every effort to confuse the traveler is made on the ticket purchaseing machines, and Metro employees are ordered to NEVER NEVER help the public with the machines.
